This week my heart grew two sizes from chatting with my long-lost friend Naomi Miyamoto (Mimi). This conversation, covering everything from clay to argan oil, but focused mostly on her life as a creative, lasted nearly three hours. Here’s the pared-down version. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Reminder: you can listen here, on Spotify, or on Apple Podcasts.
P.S. we speak a lot about her different creative projects here, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t show you a few of them. If you want to follow more of Mimi’s work, you can find her on Instagram here.

P.P.S.S. In the middle of the interview, Mimi told me that it’s never too early to sell your work, even if you don’t think its perfect yet. I’m nowhere near ready to start charging subscription fees for this newsletter but, inspired by her, I created an account with “Buy Me a Coffee” for anyone interested in making a one-time payment.
If you’re enjoying the podcast or the newsletter and have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocket, I’d be happy to put them towards my rent (and my other needs/vices). If it’s not in your budget right now, not to worry! The newsletter remains free, and I remain overwhelmingly grateful for your readership.
Monetizing is the part of this whole thing that makes me want to bury myself alive, but here I go digging the hole: Buy Me a Coffee.
Have a wonderful week,
Ryley
